The National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine is one of the oldest institutions of higher education for metallurgical engineering. It was established in October, 1899 as a department of Katerinoslavsky Higher Mining School. In NMetAU you can expect a well-structured student counseling service, tailor-made courses and study programs, well-supervised practical trainings and final projects, multiple contacts with trade and industry.
Presently, The National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine is a state institution of higher education with level IV accreditation and developed infrastructure. NMetAU carries out the teaching activity for all qualification degrees in 16 branches and over 60 specialities; instructs university teachers and scientists for higher academic degrees in 22 specialities; conducts preparatory training and gives a second degree in higher education.
NMetAU collaborates with scientists and firms from the USA, German, Sweden, Finland, Italy, China, Russian, Moldova and others countries. The Academy stipulated the creation of a Consortium of 5 technical universities: German-Sweden-Finland-Poland-Ukraine. NMetAU provides students exchange programs with subjects relation universities of all over the world.
The National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine pays significant efforts in order to bring the study programs, educational technologies, research and scientific activities in accordance to the European principles and standards of education. NMetAU is an active participant of different European projects such as TEMPUS, DAAD, Visby etc.
